Performance comparison of Windows to Mint 20.3 linux for Firestorm Viewer

I prefer to use linux Mint 20.3 for my primary Operating System. I have Windows 10 as a secondary on most of my computers. When using Firestorm, there is a dramatic increase in performance on Mint. The increase can be as much as 47% in favor of linux. Another interesting result is that a GTX 1080 8G video card, out performs an RTX 3080 10G video card in these test results in Windows AND Mint. OpenGL is not optimized very well on RTX 30xx GPUs.

Lelutka Free Heads

When Lelutka offered free male and female heads for the Twelve days of Christmas I was quite happily surprised. The source of the information I received was Lelutka’s own notices which stated:

“ALL of our group members from December 12th – December 24th”

My level of experience with the american english language, is that I speak american english natively and have for 54 years. Attended all of my primary education in the USA and have degrees that require business communication courses, formal debate courses, etc.

I read that as from the 12th, THROUGH the 24th.

Provisio here is that in the group notices she did post that the free heads would end at Midnight on the 23rd. She posted that on the 23rd. From the posts of many of my fellow bloggers this was a deviation from what we expected. This caught many of us unaware.

Suggestions: Make the from and TO a quite clear date and time in SLT format from the start so that people are not shocked when you did not honor the time you said. It was a lovely gesture but was “soured” by the timing and abrupt end before the expected end of the giveaway.

Gianni 5.0 Update

Signature released the update for Gianni to version 5.0 in February of 2020. After using it for some time I have found no problems or issues with this update. There is also a corresponding update to the Geralt to version 1.5

These updates unify the Bakes on Mesh and applier versions of the body into one dual purpose body. You can enable Bakes on Mesh via the Signature HUD “Bakes on Mesh” button. That ‘button’ is highlighted in yellow in the following image.

To disable Bakes on Mesh (BoM) you can simply use any Omega compatible applier or the built in skins of the HUD on the body to revert it to the applier mode.

Signature Updates Mens’ Bodies

The Gianni body has been updated to 4.9

The Geralt body has been updated to 1.4

Both have combined the regular body with the bakes on mesh body. Adding some new functionality and features. I highly recommend this update. If you are wondering how to enable the bakes on mesh, open the HUD. Click on the 2nd tab from the left, then on that page click on Active next to Bakes on mesh.
